Finland’s Kuusakoski to invest in new carbon-free scrap processing plant

24 Mar 2023 15:31 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Kuusakoski, a leading recycling services company in Finland, said it planned to invest EUR 25 million to build a ferrous and stainless steel scrap processing plant in Veitsiluoto, which will be the market-first steel recycling plant with 100% carbon-free operation. The new plant was scheduled to be put into operation in 2025 and create 20 new job opportunities.

The investment will meet the growing demand for recycled metals in Finland and Sweden. Kuusakoski’s annual recycling capacity will be raised by 25% or 150,000 tons.

The new processing plant will have a port facility, which well connects sea freight with rail and road transport.
