JSPL gets BIS certification for fire-resistant steel structure manufacturing

Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), one of the major steel producers in India, has received BIS certification to produce India’s first fire-resistant steel structures at its steel mill in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh.

The BIS 15103 grade hot-rolled structural steel can withstand temperatures up to 600 degrees Celsius for up to three hours. It is commonly used in refineries, metro projects, power plants, industrial structures, bridges, and commercial and residential buildings.
