The Interpipe Steel electric steel smelting complex was forced to idle its work because of the shortage of scrap. The hard situation was caused by the difficult scrap collection in Ukraine.

Interpipe Steel indicated that the shortage would improve in the third decade of March. From January to February this year, scrap collection in Ukraine dropped by 70.8% year on year to 152,200 tons. Meanwhile, the raw material exports totaled 24,800 tons, increasing by 3.5 times from the same period of the previous year.
