US’ crude steel output in week ending Feb 4 increases w-o-w

According to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on February 4, the US’ production of crude steel was around 1.66 million net tons, increasing by 1.3% week on week but falling by 5.2% year on year.

During the period, the capacity utilization rate was 74.1%, a week-on-week increase of 1% but a year-on-year drop of 6.3%.

As of February 4, the adjusted year-to-date output of the US’ crude steel was around 8.11 million net tons, dropping by 6.7% year on year. The capacity utilization rate was 72.5%, decreasing by 7.4% year on year.
