According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 occurred at 9:17 a.m. Taiwan time on Monday in Türkiye. The epicenter was located in the northwest of Gaziantep province, with a shallow depth of about 17.9 km.

The production and operation of four major steel enterprises (Toscelik, Basthug, Koc Metalurji, and Platinum) in Osmaniye province have not been affected by the earthquake yet, and there are no large steel enterprises near the epicenter.
