US’ rebar imports increase in Dec m-o-m, y-o-y

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, in December last year, the US’ rebar imports were about 63,000 tons, growing by 10.9% month on month and increasing by 5.4% year on year.

Meanwhile, the import value amounted to US$52.6 million, a month-on-month increase of 5.6% and a year-on-year hike of 2.3%.

Among them, Algeria was the main US’ rebar import source, with about 25,000 tons. The followings were Mexico (around 20,300 tons), Canada (around 12,000 tons), Turkey (around 3,400 tons), and the Dominican Republic (around 1,700 tons).
