U. S. Steel Košice resumes operation of blast furnace No.2

U. S. Steel Košice, a steel company located in Košice, Slovakia, restarted its blast furnace No.2, which was idled for maintenance in September last year. Blast furnace No.1 was idled in early December due to low steel demand, and it was resumed earlier this month. Blast furnace No.3 has been kept in production.

After the operation resumption of blast furnace No.2, all three furnaces are in operation now, running at a total production capacity of approximately 4.5 million tons per year.
