According to data from China’s customs, in 2022, China exported billet with about 216,000 tons, soaring by 587% year on year. Meanwhile, China’s billet imports were 1.73 million tons, plunging by 82% compared to the previous year.

Regarding slab, China’s exports in 2022 amounted to about 647,000 tons. Among them, Italy imported the most of China’s slab. At the same time, China imported slab with 2.84 million tons, hiking by 87% from the previous year. Among them, Russia was main China’s import source, with 2.02 million tons.
