According to reports, the one blast furnace idled by Hungarian steelmaker, Dunaferr last year due to irreparable damage.

The sources said that another furnace would be restarted in the coming weeks. However, it is not sure where the raw materials will come from. Liberty Steel has been supplying coal to its coke ovens since December

Liberty Steel executives will travel to Hungary to meet with government officials in the hopes of finding buyers willing to invest and turn it into a green steel producer.

The state has guaranteed wages for workers at steel mills for the next six months; electricity will continue to be provided by state-run producers.
