Russian Severstal's steel production & sales decline in 2022 y-o-y

According to the statement from Russia's Severstal, in the fourth quarter of last year, its crude steel output went up by 3% quarter on quarter to 2.7 million tons. Besides, in 2022, its crude steel output amounted to 10.7 million tons, decreasing by 8% year on year.

The CEO of Severstal indicated that although Russia was imposed sanctions by Western countries, Severstal's steel sales were down only 2% to 10.9 million tons in 2022 due to high domestic demand and deliveries to ex-Soviet countries.
