Turkey's steel export value drops in 2022 y-o-y

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey's steel export value was approximately US$14.6 billion in 2022, dropping by 14.3% from the previous year. Meanwhile, the steel product export value was about US$10.5 billion, up by 19.7% year on year.

In December, Turkey's steel export value was around US$800 million, a year-on-year fall of 54.3%.

Besides, Turkey imported around US$1.7 billion of steel in December 2022, decreasing by 39.6% year on year. The total value of Turkey's steel imports in 2022 was roughly US$28.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.7%.
