China’s rebar & wire rod production drops in 2022 y-o-y

According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, China produced around 19.52 million tons of rebar in December last year, falling by 4.4% compared to the same month a year ago. The output of wire rods was 11.05 million tons during the period, a year-on-year decrease of 12.3%.

In the whole year of 2022, China’s rebar output amounted to approximately 237.63 million tons, sliding by 8.1% year on year. The production of wire rods in the given period fell by 8.2% year on year to 141.4 million tons.
