ArcelorMittal provides low-carbon emission wire rods to German’s Waelzholz

17 Jan 2023 16:24 reported by Stanley Wang

A A A
ArcelorMittal’s Hamburg plant will supply low-carbon emission wire rods (XCarb®), which are produced on the basis of scrap and renewable electricity, to German’s Waelzholz. The first 20 tons of wire rods were delivered to Waelzholz’s Hagen cold-rolled steel manufacturing plant.

Waelzholz targeted to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045, and it was the first company in the cold rolling industry to implement a validated process to calculate the carbon footprint of products for each material variation.
