According to the China Passenger Car Association, China’s wholesale sales volume of new energy passenger vehicles reached 750,000 units in December, hiking by 2.5% from the previous month and by nearly 49% compared to the year-ago level. The sales of new energy vehicles weren’t impacted by the policy of halving the car purchase tax but continued to grow.

In 2022, the wholesale sales volume of new energy passenger vehicles in China amounted to almost 6.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 96.3%.

In terms of retail sales, the volume reached 640,000 units in December, a month-on-month hike of 6.5% and a year-on-year growth of 35.1%. The retail sales in 2022 kept rising, with a volume reaching 5.7 million units, a year-on-year increase of 90%.
