Brazil's EV sales hit record high in 2022

According to data released by the Brazilian Association of Electric Vehicles (ABVE) on January 4, Brazil's sales of light electric vehicles (EV) in 2022 had a year-on-year increase of 41%, reaching around 49,200 units, setting the highest record since the statistics began in 2012.

It was the fifth consecutive year that the sales of electric vehicles in Brazil achieved steady growth. Currently, the number of EVs in circulation in Brazil has reached about 127,000 units.

In December 2022, sales of light EVs in Brazil hit the second-best monthly result in history, reaching roughly 5,600 units, ranking after September 2022's 6,400 units.
