Northeastern mills in China have low willingness to store construction steel for winter

30 Nov 2022 17:01 reported by Alston Tsai

A A A
According to a market survey, the enterprises' funds are sufficient with stable operation. Due to sluggish demand and the impact of the lockdown policy on delivery, local steel mills' willingness to store steel in winter has been greatly reduced.

For the northeast mills, digesting stock is the main goal at present, and the inventory this winter decreased by 300,000 tons year on year.

As a result, local mills' own inventories remain higher, and their strategy for storage is uncertain. Some traders may switch purchasing methods to the current price in order to maintain sales in the future.
