Vale Indonesia & China’s Huayou invest in developing Pomalaa project in Indonesia

Indonesian nickel miner PT Vale Indonesia and China’s Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt invested around US$4.29 billion in constructing the high-pressure acid leaching plant.

The plant will be built in the Pomalaa region, and its capacity production of nickel in mixed hydroxide precipitate was expected to be 120,000 tons.

According to the cooperation, Huayou will be responsible for the development of the Pomalaa project in Southeast Sulawesi, and Vale will have the right to acquire up to 30% stake in the project.
