China's semi-fished steel product imports fall in Oct m-o-m, y-o-y

29 Nov 2022 17:12 reported by Stanley Wang

A A A
In October, China's semi-finished steel product imports totaled around 545,000 tons, dropping by 19.3% month on month and declining by 60% year on year. Meanwhile, China's semi-finished and finished steel imports were around 1.32 million tons, falling by 15.9% from the previous month and 47.1% year on year.

In the first ten months of this year, China's steel imports amounted to 15.18 million tons, falling by 32.8% year on year. The low steel demand was a result of the pessimistic real estate industry.

Besides, if China lessens the Zero-Covid strategy in 2023, the domestic steel demand will go up significantly compared with 2022.
