China’s section-beam demand in Sep increases, but prices still fluctuate

In September, black metal future prices impacted China’s section beam prices, so the prices fluctuated. By the end of September, the section beam market became popular because of inventory refilling and increasing demand. However, although demand increased in September, the prices were still hard to be upheld well.
Apart from that, after lifting the lockdown in Fengrun District of Tangshan City, the steel mills’ operating rate went back quickly, almost equal to the rate in August.
In the week ending September 30, regarding 22 China-monitored H-beam producers, the operating rate was 70.97%, keeping flat from the previous week. The production and inventory of steel mills were 313,200 tons and 200,000 tons, increasing by 2.32% but decreasing by 13.01% week on week, respectively.
