South Korea's steel manufacturers, Pohang Iron and Steel Company (POSCO), and Australia's mining company, Hancock Group, have signed an agreement to cooperate in developing essential metals, including lithium, nickel, copper, iron ore, and hot briquetted iron (HBI).

They are also looking for a new opportunity to develop secondary battery materials jointly.

POSCO and Hancock Group have cooperated since 2010.
POSCO will develop clean hydrogen in Australia because Australia owns vast territory, green energy resources, and legal systems.
