China Steel Corporation (CSC), the largest carbon steel manufacturer in Taiwan, will announce its new prices for October this week.
Due to the annual maintenance at China's mills, many steel mills also reduced their production. As a result, China's Baosteel decided to keep the price flat for October.
Vietnam’s Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation (FHS) announced to decrease its hot-rolled coils (HRC) and wire rod prices by US$35/ton, with delivery in the November period.
There are many of India and Russia’s low-cost materials in Vietnam. Affected by the cheap sources, FHS was forced to lower the price.
According to the market analysis, prices from Europe, the US, and Asia prices remained stable. There are some restrictions for import in Taiwan. Many downstream customers have stocks at high-priced levels.
Therefore, CSC didn't have the intention to lower the price. It was expected that CSC might hold the price or increase prices slightly by NT$300-500/ton for HRC to stabilize the market.
