US' CRC & galvanized steel prices continue to rise

21 Jul 2021 16:28 reported by Jamie Yen

A A A
In the past week, the domestic price of cold-rolled coils (CRC) in the US market followed the increase of galvanized steel coils.

It was understood that the current domestic prices are really high, which thus attracted more importation. However, the supply might be in a shortage in the second half of the year due to the active automobile industry in the US market.

The current demand and price trends were expected to continue into next year. At present, the delivery time for CRC was probably around 8-12 weeks. For the delivery time of galvanized steel coils, it would be much longer.

According to some sources, they believed that due to the strong growing demand of the automobile industry, the market might stabilize in August and then strongly return.
