Brazilian scrap exports slide in May m-o-m & y-o-y

According to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Brazil exported roughly 33,000 tons of scrap in May, decreasing by 11% from 37,000 tons in the previous month and sliding by 36% from 52,000 tons in the same month a year ago.
Among them, the main export port was port Itajai, with about 11,000 tons, followed by port Manaus with 8,000 tons. India was the major destination with around 15,000 tons, followed by Bangladesh with 10,000 tons.
In the first five months of 2021, Brazil totaled exported approximately 135,000 tons, plunging by 57.2% from 316,000 tons in the same period last year.
