French steel product imports & exports rise in Jan-Apr y-o-y

According to the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, France imported approximately 3 billion EUR of steel products in the first four months of 2021, rising by 30.4% from the same period year ago.
Among them, France imported about 654 million EUR of steel pipes, increasing by 12.6% year on year. France also imported 153 million EUR of the cold-rolled (CR) bar, 285 million EUR of the CR flats, and 172 EUR of CR wire rods, soaring by 35.7%, 41%, and 38.9% year on year, respectively.
In the same period, France totaled exported roughly 3.2 EUR of steel products, hiking by 28.2% year on year. Steel pipes were the main export product with around 388 EUR, followed by the CR bars, CR flats, and CR wire rods.
