Norsk Hydro ASA, a Norwegian aluminum and renewable energy company based in Oslo, said it is cooperating with circular economy start-up Nuvosil for a pilot project on new technology for the recycling of aluminum and silicon. The project could significantly reduce processing costs and energy consumption by up to 90%.

It was expected that this new technology will be tested in one or more of Hydro’s plants in Norway, with Hydro CIRCAL’s production, low-carbon aluminum ingots, as one potential application area.
