Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced on Tuesday (January 12) to increase COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures, declaring a state of emergency across the country until August 1, unless epidemic cases are under control.

According to the latest data, Malaysian industrial output shrank in November 2020, which suppressed investors’ confidence.

Citigroup forecasted that Malaysian economic recovery will remain weak at the beginning of this year.
