Vale's iron ore production rises in Q3 due to recovery at Itabira & Timbopeba mines

22 Oct 2020 14:28 reported by Joy Liu

Vale S.A. (Vale), a Brazilian multinational corporation engaged in metals and mining, reported its iron ore production reached 88.7 million tons in the third quarter of this year, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 31.2%. Meanwhile, the output of pellets had a quarter-on-quarter increase of 21% to 8.6 million tons.

The increase in Vale’s output was mainly due to the production recovery at its Itabira and Timbopeba complexes after the work resumption.

Vale expected that it will achieve 400 million tons of iron ore output by early 2023.
