Turkish rebar exports decrease in Jan-Aug y-o-y
22 Oct 2020 15:15 reported by Ranny Fang
According to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the accumulated export volume of rebar from January to August 2020 was around 3.65 million tons, a bit lower than 3.8 million tons in the same period last year.
Turkish rebar export to the European Union decreased drastically in the first 8 months due to the quota limit and pandemic. The rebar export number to the Middle East also decreased due to the increasing production from the area.
However, Turkish rebar producers tried to switch export targets to South East Asia and the United States and therefore made the total export number slightly below the figure in the same period a year earlier.
