Mexico begins sunset review on rebar imports from Brazil

According to reports, Mexico’s Secretariat of Economy (SE) has started up a sunset review of existing countervailing duties (CVD) on rebar imports from Brazil.

The current CVD rate for Brazilian rebar is 57.69%. The SE said the sunset review was based on the request from Mexican steelmakers, including ArcelorMittal Mexico, Deacero, Group Simec, Ternium Mexico, and TA 2000.

Brazilian products subject to the duties are under HS code 7214.20.01.

The period of review was from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. The analysis period began on July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2020.
