CISA: Chinese steel demand growing speed may slow this year

14 Jan 2020 16:19 reported by Blanca

A A A
According to the prediction from the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) in these several days showed the steel demand for China might achieve around 890 million tons this year, increased by 2% year on year, it was quite close to the expectation from the World Steel Association, which predicted by 1% annual growth.

Although the demand showed an increase, the increased speed was expected to slow down and the supply might still higher than the demand.

In the past few years, due to the government cut-production policy, the new-round adjustment of the Chinese steel industry was started to be impacted, and the market expected this year might continue to adjust.
