Turkish producers expect steel production to increase in Q4, 2019

According to the announcement from Türkiye Çelik Üreticileri Derneği (TCUD), the total production of Turkey in the last quarter of this year might increase.
In the first nine months of this year, the crude steel capacity of Turkey was around 26 million tons, decreased by 10% year on year, which was also the largest decline in the top 15 largest steel-producing countries in the world.
The main reason for the decline was caused by the trade barrier for the Turkish steelmakers from the EU.
In the first half of this year, the total domestic consumption of steel in Turkey had decreased by 32%, which caused the TCUD to ask the government to levy tariffs to protect the domestic steelmakers.
Turkish steelmakers expected that the production in the last quarter of this year might rebound from the bottom.
