Philippine announces to suspend four nickel mining area, hits nickel supply strongly

It's reported that after Indonesia announced the implementation of the nickel export ban from January 2020, the Philippine official would also suspend mining operations in four nickel mines in the Tawi-Tawi area indefinitely.

The rough estimate of this decision would make the Philippine nickel production this year down 16.6% from last year's 18.95 million tons.

The purpose of this decision was to ensure that the mining industry in the Philippines could balance the local ecological environment and social welfare, and China was expected to be influenced the most.
