The Iranian government planned to levy a 25% tariff on all exporting iron ore from September 23rd, such measure was afraid to further limit exports of iron ore.

Since August this year, the export volume of Iranian iron ore began to descend and sales of pellet was almost stagnant. In the case of the shortage of iron ore, the Iranian government stopped to release certification to exporters from August 6th this year.

Last month, the Iranian government announced that without the permission from the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, no one was allowed to export iron ore, concentrate and pellet so as to protect the domestic steel manufacturers.
