18 Jul 2019 15:00 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
The price of nickel on the London Metal Exchange (LME) kept rising in July. The settlement and the three-month price rose to US$13,350/ton and US$13,450/ton on July 15th respectively, hitting a 4-month high.

According to market participants, the reasons for continuous strong nickel prices included both the US and China stock markets reaching new highs on July 12th and arousing interests from enthusiasts about risks, 3 great earthquakes in Indonesia, LME nickel stocks falling to 150,000 tons, and rumor of the Indian government’s plan to stop export easing measures in 2022.
