It was reported that the Uzbek steelmaker of long steel products, Uzbek Metallurgical Plant, would start constructing the hot-rolled coils (HRC) mill this year, aiming to become a self-sufficient supplier when the new mill started to operate in 2021.
The new mill was capable to produce coils with a thickness between 1.4mm and 12mm and a width between 800mm and 1,300 mm.
The planned production capacity was 1 million metric tons per year. Also, the Italian engineering company Danieli will supply equipment for the new mill.
