Chinese vehicle output & sales drop in Jun y-o-y

According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), Chinese vehicle output in June was around 1.9 million units, up by 2.5% month on month, while down by 17.3% year on year. The sales volume in June was around 2.06 million units, up by 7.5% from the previous month, down by 9.6% from the same month last year.
In the first half of 2019, Chinese vehicle output was around 12.13 million units, down by 13.7% year on year; the sales volume was around 12.32 million units, down by 12.4% year on year.
Meanwhile, the output and sales volume of the new energy vehicle were around 134,000 and 152,000 units respectively, separately up by 56.3% and 80% year on year.
Some market observers said the automobile market might rise in the second half of 2019 due to the support from policies.
