Taiwanese YC keeps profitable & stable in stainless steel market

3 Jul 2019 15:50 reported by Jordan Huang

A A A
YC Inox Co., Ltd., one of the stainless steel manufacturers in Taiwan, has reported its profit performance for the first quarter, showing that the turnover turned down while the gross profit margin still grew. The reason why the turnover decreased was because of the strong nickel price but low stainless steel prices.

Nevertheless, the weak Taiwanese dollar and the strong nickel prices pushed the upstream mills to increase their prices for the second quarter.

Due to the increased stainless steel prices in July, coupled with the stable nickel prices in recent weeks, the stainless steel prices were expected to be stronger in the second half of 2019.
