Chinese crude stainless steel production drops in Q1 y-o-y

According to the statistics from Stainless Steel Council of China Special Steel Enterprises Association (CSSC), the production of crude stainless steel in China totaled around 6.4 million tons in the first quarter of this year, dropping by 1.51% or 99,000 tons in the same period a year ago.

Among them, the production of Cr-Ni stainless steel (so-called 300 series) accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 3.18 million tons, a year-on-year growth of 8.04% or around 237,000 tons.
