Japanese hot-rolled stainless steel output increases in 2018 y-o-y

According to the statistics, in 2018, the output of hot-rolled stainless steel in Japan amounted to around 2.95 million tons, hiking by 3.6% compared to the previous year.
Among them, chromium-nickel series accounted for around 1.19 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 5.1%; chromium series accounted for around 1.12 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.7%.
Based on the shapes of products, the top 3 were stainless steel strip with around 2.02 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%; stainless steel pipe and tube had 285,000 tons roughly, a year-on-year growth of 17.1%; stainless steel plate had approximately 191,000 tons, a year-on-year decline of 9.1%.
