Mexican automobile production & exports both increase in Mar & Q1

According to the data released by the Mexican Automotive Industry Association (AMIA), the automobile production in Mexico totaled around 347,000 units in March, up by 4.8% compared to the same month a year ago. The exports rose by 2% year on year to around 324,000 units, and the sales volume in domestic market had a year-on-year decrease of 1.5% to 117,000 units roughly.

In the first quarter, Mexican automobile production reached around 992,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 3%; the exports were year on year up by 2.1% to 837,000 units roughly; the domestic sales volume reduced by 1.7% year on year to approximately 332,000 units.
