US steel scrap shipments reached 1.3 million tons in June, representing an 11.0% monthly increase and a 26% annual rise, according to US International Trade Commission (USITC) statistics.

Mexico was the top destination, receiving about 303,600 tons, showing substantial gains from previous periods. Turkey, Vietnam, and Canada also ranked as major destinations with respective volumes of about 300,000 tons, 146,200 tons, and 78,000 tons.

Total export values reached US$620 million, down by 1.34% month on month and up by 37% year on year.
