US reports m-o-m, y-o-y drop in Apr HRC exports

Statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) showed that the US exported around 41,000 tons of hot-rolled coils (HRC) in April, decreasing by 32% compared to the previous month and by 47% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, exports to Mexico still accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 33,500 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 17% and a year-on-year drop of 31%. Canada ranked second with about 8,200 tons. The delivery to other nations was relatively low.

During the period, the export value was roughly US$44 million, down by 30% month on month and 45% year on year.
