The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved a law on July 14, 2026, to ratify a free trade agreement signed with Turkey in February 2022, completing all parliamentary requirements for its activation.

This deal removes import taxes on processed goods such as foodstuffs, deeply processed oil products, and feed concentrates, moving Ukraine beyond its raw grain and sunflower oil trade.

Under the Pan-Euro-Mediterranean rules of origin, Ukrainian producers can incorporate Turkish components and export final goods to the EU under preferential terms.

Deputy Prime Minister Taras Kachka explained that this setup integrates Ukraine into European supply chains prior to its formal EU accession. It gives local companies immediate access to a major regional market.
