The UAE and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are strengthening their economic relationship through a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), marking a strategic step in expanding bilateral trade and investment.

Andrey Slepnev, Minister in charge of Trade at the Eurasian Economic Commission, stated that the CEPA will diversify trade and enhance investment flows. The UAE’s share in the EAEU’s total foreign trade has grown to 2%, placing it among the Union’s top ten global partners.

EAEU exports to the UAE have quadrupled over two years, while UAE exports to EAEU countries rose by over 50%. The agreement will cut customs duties on over 85% of goods, lowering tariffs on EAEU products in the UAE from 5% to 0.6%, and on Emirati goods in EAEU markets from 5.9% to 1.5%.

Key goods include steel, aluminum, petrochemicals, dairy, and consumer goods etc. The UAE gains greater access to EAEU markets for polymers, cosmetics, and appliances, supporting its role as a key regional trade hub.
