Turkey reports decrease in Q1-Q3 wire rod exports

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s wire rod exports totaled around 715,000 tons in the first three quarters of this year, decreasing by 3% compared to the same period a year ago. The export value also dropped by 9% year on year to roughly US$410 million.

Among them, Romania was the main export destination with roughly 254,000 tons, a year-on-year hike of 7%. Bulgaria followed with around 56,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 17%, and Libya emerged to the third position with about 52,000 tons.

In September alone, Turkey exported about 91,300 tons of wire rod, a significant month-on-month rise of 112% and a year-on-year fall of 24%. The value of these exports reached approximately US$51 million, soaring by 108% month on month but sliding by 29% year on year.
