Toyota Motor North America, Inc. will add a second vehicle assembly line at its San Antonio plant in Texas as part of a US$3.6 billion expansion.

Scheduled to begin operations in 2030, this new line will expand the plant's annual production capacity by about 150,000 units and generate more than 2,000 new jobs.

Over a four-year period, Toyota plans to transfer production of its Tacoma mid-size pickup to Texas from the Baja California facility in Mexico.

This strategic expansion is in line with Toyota's community-focused business model, optimizing its local manufacturing network to deliver diverse product choices tailored to regional demands.
