tk accelis Processing Europe, part of tk accelis, has processed the first 500 coils on its new slitting line at its expanded steel service center in Stuttgart, Germany. 

The new line can process materials ranging from 0.2 mm to 5.0 mm in thickness, including thin electrical steel strip. Together with a newly commissioned digitally integrated packaging line, the investment has increased the site’s annual processing capacity to up to 350,000 tons.

Marcus Wöhl, CEO of tk accelis Processing Europe, said the new equipment marks an important step toward highly automated, data-driven operations while improving efficiency and strengthening the company’s capability to process electrical steel strip.
