Thailand reviews AD duties on China’s high-carbon wire rods

19 May 2025 15:28 reported by Joy Liu

Thailand's Ministry of Commerce has initiated a review of existing anti-dumping (AD) duties on high-carbon wire rod imports originating from China. The duties, ranging from 12.26% to 36.79%, are set to expire five years after their implementation following a sunset review in May 2020.

Importers are now required to provide a bank guarantee for duty collection during this review period.

The products involved are high-carbon wire rods, including those alloyed with other elements, hot-rolled, with a circular cross-section and a diameter under 14mm, containing 0.76-0.92% carbon by weight.

Thailand initially imposed these AD measures in October 2014 and conducted the first sunset review in May 2019.
