Taiwan’s Yieh Phui increases Aug domestic steel prices, maintains Sep export prices

Yieh Phui Enterprise Co., Ltd. (Yieh Phui), a leading coating steel mill in Taiwan, announced a NT$500/ton increase for its domestic galvanized and pre-painted steel prices for August, while keeping its export prices for September unchanged.

The company's decision is in response to rising import prices for hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel, as well as a recovery in the galvanized and pre-painted steel market. Yieh Phui also said that a weakening Taiwanese dollar is easing pressure on exporters.

However, the company remains cautious due to ongoing geopolitical conflicts and a soft European steel market, which is affected by US tariffs. Yieh Phui is also contending with the threat of Chinese steel dumping in emerging markets across Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
