Taiwan’s major stainless steel manufacturers, Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco), Tang Eng, Walsin Lihwa, and Yieh Hsing, raised their prices for April, driven by strong demand, order diversions, rising raw material costs, and Taiwan dollar depreciation.

Benefiting from order shifting, Yusco and Tang Eng raised 304 series prices by NT$4,000/ton, while Yusco also hiked 430 series by NT$500/ton. Walsin Lihwa increased 300 series by NT$4,000-5,000/ton, 200 series by NT$1,000/ton, and 400 series by NT$500. Yieh Hsing adjusted its stainless steel wire rod prices similarly and also raised carbon steel wire rod prices by NT$600/ton.

Tang Eng said the recent market demand has risen, while it remained optimistic but cautious about market uncertainties.
